Woolly Mammoth has 7 large conference venues in London, each seating 100 to 160 people theatre-style, and up to 350 standing for the drinks afterwards. They are a former courthouse in Clerkenwell, five Grade II listed townhouses facing Hyde Park, a five-storey townhouse in Soho and four loft spaces around Old Street. Full-day hire starts at £1,200, with no booking fee, and our team arranges the catering, AV and breakout rooms with you.
We will be honest about size: none of our venues has a 500-seat auditorium. For more than 160 people seated in one room, a purpose-built conference centre or a hotel ballroom is the better fit, and we will tell you so when you enquire. Our venues are made for the 100 to 160 bracket: an all-hands, a client summit, an AGM or an industry seminar, in a building your guests will talk about afterwards.

How to choose a large conference venue in London
Capacity by layout: theatre, standing and dinner
The same room holds very different numbers depending on the layout. Theatre style, rows of chairs facing a stage or screen, seats the most people sitting down. A standing format, for a reception or a launch, fits more. A seated dinner at tables fits the fewest. Plan from the layout of your main session, then check that the room also works for the lunch or drinks that follow.

Our large venues, one by one
- Old Session House, Clerkenwell: a former courthouse with two grand halls, one under an 8-metre ceiling, smaller rooms for breakouts and a roof garden for the drinks. Seats 120 for talks and 140 for dinner, and takes 350 standing, the most of any Woolly Mammoth venue.
- The Regency House, Hyde Park: five Grade II listed townhouses with 4-metre ceilings, chandeliers and park views, near Paddington and Lancaster Gate stations. Its main hall seats 140, for talks or dinner, and several smaller rooms work for parallel sessions.
- The Victorian Event Space, Old Street: a 2,433 sq ft loft in a renovated paper factory, with air conditioning, two passenger lifts and a reception lounge with a coffee station and cloakroom. Seats 160, and can be combined with two adjoining spaces for breakouts.
- Tottenham Court Road Townhouse, Soho: a five-storey townhouse known for its exhibitions, with a main room for 160 seated and other floors that can take breakouts or screenings.
- Old Street Versatile Exhibition Space, Old Street: an open-plan space with its own lighting and audiovisual systems, a lift and a cargo lift for stands and kit. Seats 150.
What to check before you book a large venue
- Seats in the main room. Count the people who must sit at the same time for the keynote, not the total on the guest list.
- Breakout space. Parallel sessions need separate rooms: Old Session House, The Regency House and the Old Street lofts have them.
- Sound and screens. The Old Street Versatile Exhibition Space has its own lighting and audiovisual systems. For a stage, microphones or a live stream in any of the others, we book a technical partner.

All seven of our large venues seat 100 or more theatre-style: the Old Session House, The Regency House, The Victorian Event Space, the Tottenham Court Road Townhouse, the Old Street Versatile Exhibition Space, the Event Space in a Renovated Paper Factory and the Old Street Enchanted Event Space. Four of them are a few minutes' walk from Old Street station.
The Old Session House and The Regency House both seat 140 for dinner, so the talks and the evening can stay in one building. The Old Street lofts seat 40 to 60 at tables, and suit a standing reception better after a day of talks.
